- The Guggenheim Museum has opened (Oct. 10, 2013) an exhibition called “Participatory City: 100 Urban Trends from the BMW Guggenheim Lab.” The exhibit features ideas drawn from a traveling lab that traveled to Berlin, Mumbai and New York and was designed to explore new ways of thinking about cities.
- The UK’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills this week (Oct. 9, 2013) launched a new initiative on smart cities. The BIS announced the program at the same time it released a report projecting that smart cities would be a $40 billion market in the UK by 2020.
- IBM’s newly updated (Sept. 26, 2013) Smarter Cities software features cloud-based analytics to “help cities gain powerful insights into how to better serve their citizens.”
